Knife drawing
I started my knife trace with the knife
blade, the blade was made out of mostly curved lines and when I did the handle
is was also curved lines. The shape of the knife is a mix of organic and
geometric shapes and lines. The knife is varietal and the lines of the knife
are thin and long with a lot of curves and only a few straight lines. The color
of the knife is darker with the handle being dark brown and the blade a darker
gray. The texture of the knife handle seems rugged and easily grip able and the
knife blade looks sharp and strong.
I started my knife sketch using the
paintbrush tool and I did a quick sketch of my knife and didn’t use any other tools.
Next when I did my knife trace I put the knife picture in the middle of the
screen and then locked the image. I then started on the knife blade using the
pen tool after I had traced everything; I then used the direct selection tool using
the knobs and adjusted my lines if it was needed and then locked the image anytime
I adjusted something or did another segment. After the blade I moved on to the
handle, using the pen tool I made the handle and after I made the groves in the
handle. My last step with to go back to the blade and trace the darker area
inside the blade and then I was finished.
In my opinion I like the color drawing
better than the free hand drawing and uncolored trace. I like it better because
my drawing isn’t the best because it doesn’t look like the knife in the trace.
I also like my colored trace better the outline trace because the colored trace
makes the knife look more real.those are the reasons I like the trace with
color best and not the other ones.
