Eminem
Infinite
Cd cover
Concept
For my concept of this
project I really wanted to make a very technical work that reflected the
artist’s personality and the band that come with him. The five adjectives I
choices for the rapper reflect him in geranial and him as a rap artist and they
are
1. Cunning
2. Fast
3. Honest
4. Raw
5. Real
Original ideas
When I
first started my project my first thoughts about what to do was to show some
kind of infinite thing. My very first thought was the infinite symbol and from
there it went to different kinds of infinite diastases. When I picked my image
it was because it had a rule of thirds because the focal point was in the top
left area. I wanted the lines to be really clean but I felt it was too simple
so I decided to put numbers instead of just boring straight lines and to me the
numbers show that it goes to infinite lengths. I wanted the pattern and space of this to feel
slick and fine to inhance the other aspects of the cd cover.
For my
principles of design I used balance in the cd cover by making it prortional on
both sides, I used rhythm when it came to the number and I created emphasis by
making the lines all converge.
For my
typography I used blackoakStd for my
artist name and the title of the album and also used Campbell for the songs.
Technical info
I used illustrator,
for the most part I only used the pen tool, copy and paste and the text tool.
Analysis
In the end I find that
I did greater than what I thought I would do at first. I thought that I didn’t
have enough time and I didn’t have any great ideas till a few days after I
started the project. In the end I think that this is my second best work that I’ve
done this semester in graphics.

For my face
I had the idea of using a face that outlines itself without outlining the
edges. I started off by using an old word project to make the background black
and did it a few times I then used other things so that the white wasn’t so
noticeable. I then put in a white face that I made and again I put more layers
over it looked like it belonged with the black. I then started on the eyes,
noise, mouth, etc and that took a long time and I did it on a different file
and then I copied them over and place them on the face and the last step was
putting another few layers on up of it.
For the
idea I had the idea in my head so awhile and had some sort of idea what it
would like when I was done. The idea was that the face would be coming out of
the blackness meaning of it being that the person was coming out of a dark
place that he was in before

logo and poster
Logo:
1. for elements I used line
to connect two objects, I used shape to make it look like there was a
bubble almost around the words, I used direction to make the arrow point up
into the sky to show moving forward, I made the texture smoothed and made the
arrow look like it was growing in size, I left colour black and white because
when I think drama I think black and white.
2. I’m satisfied with my final logo, I started off with no
idea what I was going to do but I got two idea and I made them both and they
were both really good logos to me. If I had more time I wouldn’t change that
much just change the overall neatness of them.
3. With this project I found using illustrator really easy,
the only time I really had any problems with it was making my curses look
nicer.
POSTER:
1.For elements of design, I used line on the number 1 two
make it flow down to add in other words, with shape I just made it black and
white, for direction I just tried to make it look even, with size I made the
numbers biggest and the less important things smaller.
2. With my poster I’m not satisfied with it, I just don’t
really like the way it turned out. I would change the whole thing or start
over.
